Nairobi 1998 >
Mary and Pat with friends George, a Maasai, and Muthoni, a Kikuyu. Lazarus was indispensible when camping, but also much respected by Nairobi drivers who gave no quarter to the timid.

Nicknamed Lazarus. Rebuilt after it plunged over a bridge on the way to Mombasa with Mary at the wheel. It fell on it's roof. Mary climbed out through a shattered and flattened windscreen. A passing Maasai man schielded her from robbers.
